It was not only that Forbes official website was effected by the breach, but Several twitter accounts related to Forbes were also hijacked. within the effected twitter accounts were Forbes tech news Account @ForbesTech, Social media editor and staff writer Alex Knapp Account @TheAlexKnapp and personal Finance Reporter Samantha Sharf Account @samsharf while tweets from all the Accounts have been removed, A tweet saying “Syrian Electronic Army was here” can still be seen on Samantha Sharf’s Twitter Account.

The reason behind the attack, was that forbes “posted many articles against the SEA, with much hate for Syria.” said Syrian Electronic Army.

It is still unknown how the Syrian Electronic Army managed to hack into the WordPress and Twitter Accounts of the Forbes, looking back on the previous Attacks of Syrian Electronic Army on Gurdian, Onion, Microsoft and several other High profile media groups, it could possibly the Phishing campaign used to Compromise the Accounts.
